The dashboard

You already have the numbers. Nobody can see them.

They are in a bank export, an accounting package nobody opens and a spreadsheet somebody keeps privately. Drop all of it in below and watch it become one picture: what came in, what went out, what it went on, and whether that is better or worse than last month.

Funding in, spend against budget, and where every franc of it went.

Drop the folder in

A bank statement, an accounting export, a sales sheet, a budget. CSV, Excel or a folder of all of them. Nothing is uploaded: the files are read in this browser and never leave it.

Whatever the export looks like

Excel, CSV, a folder of both. Debit and credit columns or one signed amount. A letterhead above the headings and a totals row below them. The columns are read rather than mapped by hand, and a row that cannot be read is listed with the reason instead of quietly dropped.

The same payment in two files

The bank statement and the accounting export cover the same month, so half of it is the same money described twice. Add them and the company looks twice its size. The overlap is found, left out of every figure, and kept on screen so you can see exactly what was left out.

Any stretch of time, against the one before

Today, last week, the quarter, or two dates you pick. Every figure is shown against the same number of days immediately before it, because a number on its own says nothing. A monthly budget is scaled to the days the period actually covers.

The files stay in your browser

They are read in the page. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. The only thing that reaches a server is a question you type into the assistant, along with the totals it needs to answer it.

What this is, and what it is not

It is a reading and a picture, not a bookkeeping system. It does not replace an accountant, it does not file anything, and it will not tell you your bank balance, because none of the files say what was in the account before they start. What it does is answer the question that currently takes somebody an afternoon: where did the money go, and is that normal.

Running it on a schedule, against a client’s own systems, with the answer arriving by email every Monday morning, is the version that gets built per client. This page is the part you can try without talking to anybody.
